PROJECT OVERVIEW
Discover what makes it unique
On Paseo de Montejo, one of the main thoroughfares in the city of Mérida, a supermarket and a department store were planned. Our job was to define the image of the complex, articulate the two large masses, and create a transitional space between them and the avenues.
Typologically, the area is dominated by properties delimited by ironwork set in low masonry walls, with entrances flanked by stone pillars. We took up these and other urban-architectural elements to reinterpret them from a contemporary perspective and respond to the program, also incorporating a sculptural garden that added value to the complex.
