DUARTE AZNAR ARQUITECTOS
Mercado del barrio de "Santa Ana"
GALLERY

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Discover what makes it unique
Built in 1959 in the neighborhood of the same name, the Santa Ana Market was constructed with hyperbolic paraboloids of reinforced concrete on columns, under which stalls and perimeter premises with latticework were housed.
Its revitalization in 2002, due to neglect and deterioration, included the demolition of obsolete premises and facilities, preserving the paraboloids and creating a large shaded terrace with two areas: a morning market and a gastronomic and tourist area. A new central paraboloid creates a courtyard and ventilation. The use of hygienic and durable materials such as stainless steel and aluminum ensures minimal maintenance.
