Laboratorio de Metrología CICY

Laboratorio de Metrología CICY
Discover the precision and innovative design of the Metrology Laboratory at CICY in Mérida, ensuring accurate calibration in a vibration-free, temperature-controlled environment.

Discover what makes it unique

A Metrology Laboratory houses delicate calibration instruments and provides a workspace for those dedicated to ensuring that mass, volume, fluid, and dimensional measuring devices strictly comply with the most demanding international and national standards.

To achieve this, the space requires total isolation from vibrations, magnetism, temperature changes, and humidity. For this reason, the building was conceived as a single volume with an east–west opening running through it. A curved wall was added as a membrane that envelops the laboratories, protecting them from the sun while emphasizing the project’s core area.
