Academia de Karate Shotokan

Academia de Karate Shotokan
Explore the serene Shotokan Karate Academy in Mérida, designed for reflection and practice amidst a tranquil, open dojo environment.

Discover what makes it unique

Karate, the martial art of the empty hand, is a philosophy where the body and the spirit meet and merge in a magical balance.

The Dojo pretends to be a speech of these reflections; wants to be a serene place where few things happen and minimal materials are used, where only space and the human being exist. An open dojo where the breeze dances to the rhythm it produces while swaying the bamboo leaves. Thus, the structure is merely the roof and what is covered: a metallic barrel vault; a courtyard defined by a stone wall that acts as an amphitheater. A shaded tropical space with a vast volume of air, conceived for both reflection and practice.
